Oppo has finally released an affordable variant of its F5 midrange smartphone. The OPPO F5 Youth is for youths on a budget. The device still maintained its 6-inch, 18:9 aspect ratio with little bezels. The display boasts of an FHD+ 1080×2160 pixels screen ratio with 402 ppi density.
It houses the same MediaTek Helio P23 chipset on the F5 and an Octa-core processor. Meaning the F5 Youth should be as fast as the first F5 smartphone, but not entirely. The graphics processing unit on the F5 Youth is an ARM Mali G71 MP2. The RAM size was reduced to just 3GB.
For storing files, there’s a 32GB internal storage which is upgradeable using a microSD card. F5 Youth supports two Nano-sims at the same time. The OPPO F5 Youth runs on Android 7.1 Nougat OS with Color OS 3.2 skin on top.
The highlight of the F5 Youth is the dual 12MP + 12MP selfie camera, which takes beautiful selfies. While taking selfies, you can use the front flash or screen flash feature to boost the screen brightness, to illuminate your face even clearer. At the back, there’s a 16MP single rear camera with F/2.2 lens to capture amazing moments.
Powering this device is still the same 3200mAh battery on the F5. It features Face ID and also has a fingerprint sensor at the back. The device was made available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colours.
The Oppo F5 Youth currently available in the Philippines at the moment, but is expected to reach all markets by the first week of December. It retails for PHP13,990 ($275). That’s about N100,000.
