Xiaomi has released its second foldable smartphone after the launch of the Mix Alpha last year. The device comes from the Mix family and it debuts with amazing and innovative features.
The new Mi Mix Fold has a large internal display that is foldable. The OLED panel measures a big 8.01″ with 1440+ resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. It has a peak brightness of 900nits. The display is big enough to feature a desktop mode with multiple resizable windows. This desktop mode can be launched with just a simple three-finger swipe.
The outside AMOLED display measures 6.52″ and features an 840 x 2,520 pixels resolution, 27:9 aspect ratio, 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision and 650nits brightness.

The Mi Mix Fold uses a U-shaped hinge which is lighter in weight compared to the hinges on other foldable smartphones. In its reliability test, the device was first subjected to 200,000 bends and then a million bends.
The rear camera module of Mi Mix Fold has four sensor setup. The main is a 108MP ISOCELL HM2 sensor which supports 9-in-1 binning. There is also a 13MP ultrawide sensor with 123° FoV and an 8MP macro sensor. Finally, we have an 8MP telephoto sensor that features the world’s first Liquid Lens technology.
The Xiaomi phone is powered Snapdragon 888 chip and paired with 12/256GB, 12/512GB and 16/512GB memory configuration options. There two versions of this device – the standard one has a ceramic texture with a Gorilla glass back. Then there is the Ceramic Special Edition with a gold mid-frame and black ceramic back.
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold is available for pre-order in China today with the first batch going on sale on April 16. The base 12/256GB retails for CNY10,000/$1,520/€1,300, while the 12/512GB and 16/512GB models cost CNY11,000 and CNY13,000 respectively.
