Meizu 16 Plus was introduced alongside the Meizu 16 Smartphone. However, the Plus version is the upgraded version, housing the Snapdragon 845 flagship chipset. This has a vapour chamber for improved cooling and persistent performance.
The chipset brings along an auto HDR feature and the usual AI enhancements for the dual rear camera. It also sports the innovative under-screen fingerprint scanner. However, the 16 Plus has a much taller 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display.

Design And Display
There’s no major difference here in terms of design, it looks exactly like the Meizu 16 even from afar. The body was built from Aluminium alloy with curved sides and edges enabling a perfect grip.
The camera’s placement is still the same with the dual camera at the top middle and the ring flash underneath. Turning to the sides, it measures 7.3mm in thickness but weighs more at 182g.
Meizu has finally removed the fingerprint scanner on the bottom chin to achieve a full view display. Furthermore, the screen stretches all the way to the sides as well.
It boasts of a taller 6.5-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. This has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 374 pixels per inch density offering immersive visuals. It also stretches up to 86% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
It’s powered by the Snapdragon 845 chip underneath. The flagship chip comes with power efficient features and AI, it has an octa-core processor clocking at 2.8GHz tops. In the graphics department, the Adreno 630 graphics card does the trick as well.
In terms of storage and RAM, there are three variants, there’s one with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage space. While another comes with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM, the cheap variant has 128GB storage and 6GB RAM. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box as well.
Camera, Network And Connectivity
In the camera department, it’s equipped with dual 12MP + 20MP rear shooters. The 12MP shooter has a f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.3″ sensor size, 1.55 µm pixel size, 4-axis OIS and laser AF. While the 20MP shooter acts as the depth sensor. There’s a 20MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture as well.
The Meizu 16 Plus supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It has support for Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm jack with adapter, USB TypeC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.
Battery, Price And Availability
The Meizu 16 Plus is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3570mAh battery with fast charging technology. Meizu 16 Plus will be available on shopping stores, starting from $470 to $585, that’s about (N150,000 – N190,000).
