Meizu X8 Specs and Price

Meizu X8 was also introduced during Meizu’s launch event. The X8 targets those on a slightly lower budget who can’t afford the 16X smartphone as well. Although there have been a few changes with the price drop.

The in-display fingerprint scanner is no more, you have to use the standard version at the rear. It also comes with 4GB RAM variant and a notch, this gives you a taller display though. You also get a better battery life as well.

Meizu X8 Specs and Features

・6.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 1080 x 2220 pixels
・Android 8.1 Oreo with 6GB/4GB RAM
・Octa-core 2.2GHz Snapdragon 710
・64GB/128GB built-in storage
・12MP + 5MP rear camera and 20MP front camera
・3210mAh non-removable Battery

Design And Display

Even though the 8X is built with the same Ceramic metal as the 16X. It doesn’t look well polished compared to the 16X. At the rear, the LED flash starts a vertical train at the top middle, followed by the dual rear camera.

Of course, the fingerprint scanner completes the train and offers quick access to the device. It measures 7.8 mm in thickness and weighs 154g. You can get it in Black, White and Blue colours.

The front is built around a notch display, the screen is much taller than what we saw on the 16X. So practically, it’s not really a loss, although it might be if you don’t like the notch. It sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels and 398 pixels per inch density for clear visuals. The screen also stretches up to 86.77% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Running the race here is the Snapdragon 710 chip from Qualcomm with its 10nm process technology and an octa-core processor clocking at 2.2GHz. In the graphics department, the Adreno 616 graphics processor takes charge.

There are two versions in terms of RAM and storage space. There’s one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space and a cheaper variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space as well. It runs on the latest Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with FlyMe on top.

Camera, Network And Connectivity

The depth sensor has been downgraded to a 5MP shooter, this means you get a 12MP + 5MP shooter at the rear for all your photography needs. While the usual 20MP Selfie Camera has f/2.0 aperture and 1.0 μm pixel size.

The Meizu X8 supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type C, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Meizu X8 Price And Availability

The Meizu X8 is powered by a non-removable 3210mAh battery with fast charging technology. Meizu 16X will be available on shopping stores, starting from $299 to $399, that’s about (N100,000 – N140,000).
