It’s long been rumoured that Apple will be unveiling three new iPhones this year, with an event expected to take place during the week commencing September 9th.
The flagship is said to be a successor to the iPhone X with a new chipset and camera system, then a larger 6.5” Plus version of that device and a smaller 6.1” model that will be classed as their budget offering.
This smaller device could be the much talked about iPhone SE 2 that we saw leaked by the UK mobile phone deal comparison site Tiger Mobiles earlier this year. Whilst not a like for like replacement for the original iPhone SE, it should be cheaper due to it using an LCD screen instead of AMOLED, and an aluminium frame rather than a stainless steel.
All three devices look set to pack wireless charging, face ID and the now ever present notch. However, the 6.1” iPhone will only feature a single rear camera. You can see the three devices specifications below in an image shared by Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
News from China also suggests that the budget 6.1” device might be delayed due to a problem with the production schedule. The 6.5” and 5.8” devices are likely to hit shelves in September.
Kuo also revealed that the devices won’t have support for the Apple Pencil Stylus as the technology isn’t quite ready for a solid user experience. However, we might be seeing split-screen multitasking on the larger 6.5” model.
We’re certainly looking forward to Apple’s event which also should see some new AirPods launched. Airpods have arguably been Apple’s best product in years. Also expected is the AirPower Wireless Charger, a new watch and then the latest iPad Pro tablets 11″ and 12.9″ screens and a smaller bezel than their predecessors.
Will the new devices prove popular? Time will tell but a new GBH Insights report suggests that Apple will sell 350M iPhones in one year due to the diversity in the line-up catering to a wide array of customers.
This year the Apple lover will see so many new iPhones released by the Apple. These iPhones will be very smart and advanced. The important thing to know is that these iPhones will be cheaper than the old ones.
