OnePlus8 Pro

The OnePlus 8 Pro is slim and sleek in every way possible. One can clearly see it was built with remarkable precision with a brilliant contoured design which definitely feels great in the hand. It is available in three elegant body colours; Glacial Green, Ultramarine Blue, and Onyx Black. The phone measures 165.3 x 74.4 x 8.5 mm in dimensions and weighs 199 grams in weight. The front side is identical to the OnePlus 8. The real difference in terms of design lies on the back. The triple camera module is aligned at the top middle in a rectangular shape with curved edges. And to the left-hand side of the module, we have a dual-LED flash and the fourth camera.

The phone sports a Fluid AMOLED technology which ensures that onscreen content flows smoothly and seamlessly from one frame to the next. The 6.78-inch display features QHD+ resolution with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate which will minimize input lag especially when gaming. Other notable features are the HDR10+ support and the MEMC technology capable of interpolating 24fps videos to 120fps.

Hardware and Software

Powering the OnePlus 8 Pro is the Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with either an 8GB/128GB memory or a 12GB/256GB memory. Its performance is increased by switching to the LPDDR5 RAM technology and UFS 3.0 storage. It features the sub-6GHz 5G connectivity and also Wi-Fi 6. Software-wise, the device runs on Android 10 operating system with OxygenOS 10 custom skin on top.

The OnePlus 8 Pro boost of a Quad rear camera system. The main is a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor with Omni-directional AF on all pixels and uses both OIS and EIS. There is another 48MP camera which serves as both an ultrawide angle lens with 120° FoV and macro lens. The third camera is an 8MP telephoto lens which is not available on the OnePlus 8. The fourth and final one is a 5MP camera for depth sensing. OnePlus got rid of the pop-up mechanism for the selfie camera seen on the OnePlus 7 Pro. This is replaced with a simple punch-hole in the display housing the 16MP selfie camera.

The OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a 4,510 mAh battery which is a 510 mAh increase compared to the OnePlus 7 Pro (4,000 mAh). It supports a wired Warp Charge 30T which gets you to 50% with just 22 minutes of charging. The Warp wireless charging is finally ready and debuts on this phone. Unlike the wired, it takes 30 minutes to get to 50% from 0%. The OnePlus 8 Pro also supports reverse wireless charging.
