Few weeks after announcing their $150 million partnership with Hasselblad, OnePlus has unveiled its first Hasselblad camera-enabled smartphones. The OnePlus 9 series comes with an upgraded charging speed and 120Hz display amongst others.
OnePlus 9 Pro

The true flagship of this series comes with the new Fluid Display 2.0. Its LTPO panel measures 6.7″ and can save up to 50% power. This is because of the ability to adjust the max 120Hz refresh rate down to 1Hz. The display features 1440+ resolution, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 1,300 nits peak brightness.
Now to the camera department, where the partnership with Swedish camera maker Hasselblad came to fruition. The OnePlus 9 Pro main camera consists of a 48MP IMX789 sensor (co-developed with Sony). It features dual native ISO, Digital Overlap HDR (DOL-HDR), OIS and 2×2 on-chip lens (OCL). The camera has the capability of shooting 8K videos at 30 fps and 4K videos at 120 fps.
Inside the module is a 2MP black & white camera tasked with assisting the main cam with monochrome shots. Then we have the 50 IMX766 Sony ultrawide camera with an autofocus system. Finally, an 8MP telephoto camera with a 3.3x optical zoom.
Powering the OnePlus 9 Pro is the Snapdragon 888 chipset which is married to LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The new Cool Play setup features a larger vapour chamber, more copper foil and thicker graphite sheets. It is still based on the 8T cooling solution but has a higher capacity to handle the heat.
The OnePlus 9 Pro brings about the new Warp Charge 50 Wireless charger. The accessory, which is sold separately, offers two coils to allow the smartphone to charge horizontally or vertically. It takes just 43 minutes for a 1-100% charge. Out of the box is a Warp Charge 65T wired charger which takes just 29 minutes for a 1-100% charge.

The OnePlus 9 main camera features a 48MP Sony IMX689 sensor instead. Its 4K video capability is only possible at 60fps. The Hasselblad Pro Mode is still onboard, so it has all the amazing features too. The 50MP ultrawide and 2MP monochrome cameras remain while the telephoto camera is no more.
The OnePlus 9 has a 120Hz Fluid display but it’s not adaptive or adjustable. The panel measures 6.55″ with 1080p+ resolution. The device uses the Snapdragon 888 chip with the new Cool Play cooling system.
The OnePlus 9 packs a 4,500 mAh battery capacity with Warp Charge 65W. It also features a 15W Qi wireless charging support for North America and Europe market only.
For now, the OnePlus 9 series has been released in the US, India and Europe. The OnePlus 9 Pro’s
