Oppo Find X Puts Samsung Galaxy S9 and iPhone X to Shame in Design with 93% Screen-to-Body Ratio

Oppo Find X has officially been announced today in Paris with top-flight features, impressive specs, full screen with no notch or bezels. The Find X is here to give Vivo’s NEX device a run for its money.

It houses the Snapdragon 845 chip, making it flagship worthy and a very powerful smartphone. You don’t need to look for the cameras, just open the camera app and a slider will pop up from the top, the slider houses the selfie camera, dual rear cameras and LED flash. Let’s Find out more.

Oppo Find X Design

The Oppo Find X is really an attractive smartphone with a sleek design, its curved sides and edges are really impressive. It has a glossy back which reflects light beautifully. The back looks kinda boring without a rear fingerprint scanner or cameras.

However, it’s a different story when you open the camera app. The slider pops out and you can see how the cameras are strategically placed. For biometric access, the slider pops out to get a glimpse of your face and then lowers back with the 3D Face ID.

Turning over to the front, oh my, this device will definitely make your bezel-less dream come through. There’s no notch or bezels here at all, the screen truly gives you a bezel-less display. Just like the Galaxy S9, it stretches all the way to the sides.

The tall 6.4-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen displays stunning visuals. It boasts of 1080 x 2340 pixels in resolution and 403 pixels per inch density, making details on the screen clear enough. It dishes out a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and stretches up to 92.25% of the entire front.

Hardware and Software

Running the race underneath is the Snapdragon 845 flagship chipset from Qualcomm. This was built on a 10nm process technology, so, power efficiency will be perfect. Additionally, it’s octa-core processor clocks at an impressive speed of 2.8GHz. Doing the magic with graphics is the Adreno 630.

There are two versions in terms of RAM, there’s one with 8GB of RAM and a cheaper variant with 6GB RAM. The 8GB RAM variant has two storage options 128GB and 256GB, while the 6GB RAM variant has just 64GB storage. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with ColorOS 5.1 on top.

When the slider pops out in 0.5s from the phone’s chassis, it means you are ready to capture all the beautiful moment. The stealth 3D cameras are not just hidden but contain a number of innovative technologies: O-Face recognition system, front camera, rear dual camera and many intricate sensors.

According to Oppo, OPPO Find X is the first Android smartphone to feature 3D Structured Light Technology. It uses 15,000 facial dot recognition and intelligent analysis to map out your face and is 20 times safer than fingerprint recognition for unlocking the phone.

The AI-capable dual 16MP + 20MP rear cameras do amazingly well even in low light, it has f/2.0 aperture with a dual-LED in between them and can recognize 800 scenes. Other features include phase detection autofocus, OIS, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama. It also shoots 4K videos @30fps. While the 25MP selfie camera has f/2.0 aperture and supports 3D facial scanning system. When taking a selfie with OPPO Find X, the AI-enhanced 3D Camera intelligently analyzes features such as face, nose, and eyes to arrive at a pleasing selfie.

Just like the iPhone X or the Samsung Galaxy S9, the Find X comes with Fun 3D Omoji that you share with your friends.
