Oppo R17 has been launched by the company as the latest smartphone from the company. The R17 smartphone comes with its own special kind of selfie notch and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The device is also the first smartphone in the world to come with the new AI-powered Snapdragon 670 chip and the Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, let’s find out more.

Design And Display

The new R17 smartphone sports an aluminium alloy overall unibody with glass on top. It gives off a gradient feel and reflects light in the most beautiful way.

At the top middle, we can see the dual rear camera in a vertical position, while the LED flash comes underneath. It measures 7.9mm in thickness when you turn over the sides. It will be available in Stream Blue and Neon Purple colours.

The first thing you’d notice when you turn to the front is the selfie notch. Now, this is how you do a notch without unnecessary bezels. The screen is the fingerprint scanner, just place your thumb on the screen and unlock away.

It sports a tall 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. This has a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and 394 pixels per inch density offering immersive visuals. It also stretches up to an incredible 91.5% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

The new Snapdragon 670 chip from Qualcomm comes with its 10nm process technology. Of course, the chip is accompanied by 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.0GHz. In the graphics department, the Adreno 615 graphics card does the trick as well.

For multitasking, it packs a massive 8GB RAM space ready to multitask through all your heavy apps and files. While a large 128GB storage space is available as well. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with ColorOS 5.2 on top.

In the camera segment, it’s equipped with dual 16MP + 5MP rear shooters with f/1.75 aperture and LED flash. While the 25MP selfie camera comes with f/2.0 aperture and Face Unlock.

The R17 supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It has support for Bluetooth 5.0, a 3.5mm jack with adapter, USB TypeC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, and GLONASS.
