Oppo Realme 3 with Helio P70 Launched at $150

Oppo’s Sub-brand – Realme has announced the latest instalment in the Realme line up; The Oppo Realme 3. Realme has always been about putting in as many features as they can while also keeping the price aggressively low and they’ve done it yet again. The Realme 3 smartphone comes with a 6.22-inch display with a water drop notch, a MediaTek Helio P60 or P70 depending on the market with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage respectively and has a price tag of just $150. Realme 3 Design And Display

Realme 3 sports a massive 6.22-inch 720p IPS LCD display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top for screen protection. The display has a 270ppi and covers almost all of the front with an impressive 81% screen to Body ratio. It also has a notch cut out for the front-facing camera and a chin at the bottom.

The body of the device is made of plastic and at the back is the dual camera setup, an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor. Colour options for this device are Black, Dynamic Black and Radiant Blue. It weighs a total of 175grams and measures 8.3mm in thickness. There is also a dual SIM card slot with a dedicated slot for a microSD card.

Realme 3 Camera Review

The 13MP rear camera which has an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF is accompanied by a secondary 2MP depth Sensor camera. It also features an LED flash for low light shots and HDR for good dynamic range. The 13MP front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture also has HDR capabilities but lacks an LED flash and PDAF. Both the front facing and rear facing camera are capable of recording 1080p videos at 30fps.

Realme 3 Hardware and Software

Depending on the market, the Realme 3 will have either a MediaTek Helio P60 (for Indian market) or a MediaTek Helio P70 (for global market), both of which have an Octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz and 2.1GHz respectively. Regardless of the CPU, the GPU remains the same – Mali-G72 MP3.

Two configurations are available for the Realme 3; The one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage or the one with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Storage on both configurations are expandable, thanks to the dedicated microSD card slot which can accommodate up to 256GB of additional storage. This device runs Realme’s ColorOS 6 out of the box which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Battery capacity stands at 4,230mAh with a 10W(5V/2A) fast battery charging through its micro USB port which is the highest it can go. Other features of the Realme 3 includes 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, FM radio and a 3.5mm jack.

Starting price for this device is set at INR8,999 which is approximately $150 for the 3GB/32GB while the 4GB/64GB goes as high as INR10,999, approximately $155. First flash sale is scheduled for March 12 at noon.
