Xiaomi is set to release the Redmi A2 after the success of their entry-level device last year, the Redmi A1. It should come with some basic specs and nothing outside the box. It has a plastic back and supports dual 4G sim cards. The phone will also have a fingerprint scanner at the back, as we had on the Redmi A1.
It will have a 6.52-inch IPS LCD display with a 720p resolution and 81% screen-to-body ratio. The pixel density of the phone is around 270ppi, which is decent for an entry-level phone. It can reach up to 500 nits of brightness outdoors, and you must set it at max brightness outdoors. The display is decent and responsive to touch, however. You won’t face any issues while using the phone.
The Redmi A2 will run on Android 13 (Go edition) out of the box, and the interface will be MIUI 13. The MediaTek Helio G36 will power it with 2 or 3GB RAM and 32 or 64GB storage space. Getting the 64GB RAM variant will be better because you will fill up the 32 GB storage space in no time.
The primary camera will be 8MP, and the selfie camera will be 5MP. They can both shoot videos at 1080p videos. You are not buying the Redmi A2 to get a decent camera. It would help if you had a lot of light to get decent pictures out of the phone.
It has a 5000mAh battery and supports 10 watts of fast charging. The battery is one of the best features of the phone and can last a whole day on a single charge.
