Redmi has released the Redmi K50G, also known as the Redmi K50 Gaming Edition. The smartphone is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and comes with a slew of features designed to boost performance and improve the device’s gaming experience.
The Redmi K50G has a sports car-inspired appearance with a sleek body and finely crafted detailing. The smartphone features a metallic frame and an AG Glass finish on the back. In this article, we will take a look at the specifications and features of the Redmi K50G.
Specifications for the Redmi K50G
The K50G has a 6.67-inch OLED FHD+ display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. The display supports HDR 10+, MEMC, and the DCI-P3 colour gamut. The K50 screen has Display Mate A+ certification. Gorilla Glass Victus also protects the phone’s screen.
The Redmi K50G has a triple camera arrangement on the back, with the primary camera sporting a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor. The sensor has a maximum resolution of 9248 × 6944 pixels and pixel sizes ranging from 0.8 m to 1.6 m. (pixel binning).
It also contains an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera with a 120-degree field of view and a 2-megapixel telemacro camera. The camera module also has a flicker sensor, which detects the frequency of fluorescent lights and changes shutter speed and ISO correspondingly, preventing banding effects in photographs and videos. The front camera on the K50G is a 20-megapixel Sony IMX596 sensor with AI beautifying capabilities for enhanced selfies.
In terms of hardware, the Redmi K50G is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, which is based on a 4nm process and boasts increased CPU performance as well as a nearly 52 per cent boost in GPU performance over the Snapdragon 888. In conjunction with the SoC, we get up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 258GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
In terms of power, the Redmi K50G has a 4,700 mAh battery with 120W wired charging, which the firm claims can charge the handset to 100 per cent in 17 minutes. The smartphone’s sound system is also rather excellent, with one primary speaker and one tweeter on both sides, resulting in a quad-speaker configuration for immersive and high-fidelity sound.
The Redmi K50G is available in three colour options: Blue, Silver, and Black, with the exception of the special Mercedes-AMG-themed smartphones. There are three memory combinations available for the devices: 8GB + 128GB, 12GB + 128GB, and 12GB + 256GB. These cost 3,299 yuan ($520), 3,599 yuan ($568), and 3,899 yuan ($615), respectively.
