Samsung has leaked an image suggesting the possible name of its next generation chipset. The image reads “Discover Cloud 9 with Exynos” giving an indication that the mobile phone giant next line of chipset could be called an Exynos 9.
Before now there are rumour abroad that the next Exynos chip to be used on the upcoming S8 is Exynos 8895 but the leak has further revealed that the S8 may be powered by an Exynos 9 Soc.
Samsung will launch two variants of the S8, one will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 while the second will utilize Samsung own Exynos chipset. Meanwhile Samsung is the manufacturing the Snapdragon 835 Soc which is built on the 10nm node. The upcoming Exynos chipset is being fabricated on the 10nm node, allowing for up 30% increase in performance and 30% lower power consumption
