Samsung Galaxy A30s like the name suggests is just another version of the Samsung Galaxy A30 with some upgrades as well as some downgrades. The Samsung galaxy A30s still retains the Exynos 7904 Chipset, 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a notch and a 4,000mAh battery with support for a 15W fast battery charging. So what’s changed? Samsung Galaxy A30s come with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a notch just like its sibling. However, unlike its sibling which has a 1080p FHD+ display, this has a 720p HD+ display with a 268ppi.

The display covers almost the entire portion of the front side with its 19:9 aspect ratio leaving just a small chin down below and of course the notch up top housing the front-facing camera. Underneath the display is the fingerprint sensor for biometric unlock.

At the back of the device are the triple camera setup and an LED flash. The back itself is made from an ultra-high glossy plastic with a 3D design which is a diagonal pattern with layered colours.

Overall, this device weighs 166grams and measures 7.8mm in thickness. Colour options available for Samsung Galaxy A30s are Prism Crush Black, Prism Crush White and Prism Crush Violet.

Samsung Galaxy A30s Camera Review

Samsung Galaxy A30s is rocking a triple rear camera setup. The first and main camera on the list is a 25MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and PDAF. The second is an 8MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture and lastly, a 5MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.2 aperture for portrait shots.

LED flash for low light photography is also present here. HDR and panorama as well. The rear camera shoot 1080p videos at 30fps and so can that single front-facing camera with an f/2.0 aperture.

Hardware and Software

Samsung opted for one of their own chipsets for the Samsung Galaxy A30s – The Exynos 7904. This chipset has an octa-core processor clocking a max speed of 1.8GHz alongside a Mali-G71 MP2 GPU for gaming.

This device has three memory configuration to choose from; first one comes with 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal storage while the other two both come with 4GB of RAM with either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.

Whichever configuration you go for, you can expand the storage on it even further thanks to the dedicated MicroSD card slot available. The MicroSD card slot can accommodate up to a Whopping 1TB of additional storage.

Samsung Galaxy A30s runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Samsung’s ONE UI sprinkled on top.

Battery and Connectivity

A 4,000mAh battery is present here keeping the lights turned on with support for a 15W fast battery charging. Speaking of charging, it is done through the USB Type-C port at the bottom.

Other features of the Samsung Galaxy A30s includes 4G LTE connectivity, dual-band WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm jack and Bluetooth 5.0. No NFC here.

Samsung Galaxy A30s costs between $210 – $280 depending on the RAM and Storage combination you want. The Samsung Galaxy A30s was launched recently in Nigeria alongside the Galaxy A10s and A20s.
