After the announcement of the great Note 8 which featured a dual camera, tech enthusiasts and mid-range users of the brand couldn’t wait for the mid-range version of the dual camera device. Well enough, Samsung did not disappoint. This month (September), they announced the Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus. It was announced in Thailand with dual 13MP+5MP cameras on its back, just like leaks in the past few days suggested. Of importance to note is that the phone is also be called the Galaxy C7 (2017) in other markets.
Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus Display
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus would be joining the Galaxy J7 (2017) and the J7 Pro. The Galaxy J7+ comes with a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display in an aluminum body. Unlike the previous two, the J7+ isn’t powered by the Exynos 7870 chip, but by the MediaTek Helio P20.
Furthermore, the Samsung J7+ comes with a 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded with a MicroSD slot to 256GB.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus Camera
Now to the camera – a 13MP sensor is powered by a bright f/1.7 aperture lens and a 5MP camera (a f/1.9 lens) as a complementary camera. The second camera captures the depth of field to provide a post-shot focusing capability as well as bokeh effects. Meanwhile, the front camera is a 16MP f/1.9 selfie shooter.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus has a lot in common with its siblings, the Galaxy J7 (2017) and J7 Pro. But then, it also differs in a few aspects. On the display front, all the three phones seem to have quite a lot in common. The newly-launched Galaxy J7+ comes with a 5.5-inch full Super AMOLED display. It boasts of an aluminum body, which may help the phone stand apart in the market in terms of its looks and design.
There is also another noticeable change, and it’s a downgrade, which is in battery capacity – the spec sheet of the J7+ reads 3,000mAh, while the other two boast 3,600mAh. And since the physical dimensions of the three phones are virtually identical, it has to be the dual camera to blame for the smaller power pack.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) device. It has various connectivity options including Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, Headphones, and 4G. Other little adjustments worth noting include a fingerprint sensor on the Home button, an always on display, and the Bixby Home app.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 Plus has been launched only in Thailand for now. The phone, which seemingly is a successor to the Galaxy J7 (2017) and Galaxy J7 Pro, is expected to arrive in India in the coming months. The J7+ will be available in three colors – black, gold, and pink.
The Galaxy J7+ is now on pre-order for around $390 and the pre-order period ends on September 17, after which point the handset will presumably go on sale.
