Samsung Galaxy On6 is the latest smartphone to join the Galaxy On series from Samsung. The smartphone was launched in India and at first glance, it reminds us of the Galaxy J6.
The On6 is a mid-range Galaxy smartphone that’s powered by the Exynos 7870 chipset. There’s a 64GB and 4GB storage variant, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Face Recognition. Let’s find out more.

Samsung Galaxy On6 Design
The body looks almost identical to the Galaxy J6 we saw weeks ago. It has a Plastic body with curved sides and edges just like the J6 and offers a firm grip when held. The rear camera and fingerprint scanner are present in the usual position.
When you turn over to the sides, you’ll see the power button by the right and volume keys by the left. It measures 8.2 mm in thickness, this isn’t as bulky as expected. It weighs just 154g overall and available in Black, Gold and Blue colours.

You get to expand your horizons with this beauty, it’s equipped with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio screen with no narrow bezels in sight. When in landscape mode, the Galaxy On6 displays taller visuals as well.
Speaking of visuals, the 5.6-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen is perfect for its price. It has a resolution of 720 x 1480 pixels and 294 pixels per inch density dishing out clear and sharp visuals.
Hardware and Software
Like I said earlier, it’s powered by the Exynos 7870 chip which was built on a 14nm FinFET process technology. There’s an 8-core processor doing the work underneath with a clocking speed of 1.6GHz. While, the Mali-T830 MP1 graphics card handles graphics.
Multitasking shouldn’t be a problem with two variants to choose from. There’s one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, while the cheaper variant has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space. Both storage spaces are expandable up to 256GB, it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo as well.

For photographs, there’s a 13MP shooter at the rear with f/1.9 aperture, 28mm lens, autofocus, it comes with a LED flash as well. Other features on the camera include touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR support. It shoots 1080p videos @30fps, while the 8MP selfie camera has f/1.9 aperture and a LED flash.
Network and Connectivity
The Galaxy On6 supports 4G LTE and accommodates dual Nano SIM, it also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB port, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS.
The Samsung Galaxy On6 is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3000mAh battery with fast charging technology. Samsung Galaxy On6 is available on shopping stores, starting from $199 to $249, that’s about (N70,000 – N85,000).
