Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is one of the smartphones that was just released by Samsung coming in as the biggest, or rather tallest of the bunch. In addition to having the biggest display out of the trio, It also has bigger RAM and Storage, dual selfies punch-hole camera and a bigger battery. Just like its sibling; Samsung Galaxy S10, it is the first smartphone with HDR10 display. Let’s find out more.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Design And Display

Just like its junior brother the Samsung Galaxy S10, the Samsung Galaxy S10+ has a Corning Gorilla Glass 6 at the front and at the back. However, there will be a special Version of the device which will feature a ceramic back while still retaining the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 at the front. There is a massive 6.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 1440 x 3040-pixel screen resolution, 526ppi and a 19:9 aspect ratio with almost no top or bottom bezel.

There is also a punch-hole at the top right side of the screen that houses not one, but two front-facing Cameras. Triple camera setup is located at the back with an LED flash the Samsung way. Samsung Galaxy S10+ also uses an Ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Overall, the device weighs 175 grams (198grams for the special ceramic model), measures 7.8mm in thickness and comes in multiple colours; Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, Prism Blue, Canary Yellow, Flamingo Pink, Ceramic Black and Ceramic White.

Samsung Galaxy S10+ a dual camera setup for selfies in the punch-hole and Triple camera set up at the back with an LED. The dual selfie camera comprises of a main 10MP main shooter with an f/1.9 aperture and dual pixel PDAF which is accompanied by a secondary 8MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

The selfie cameras are equipped with auto HDR, dual video call capabilities and can record 4k and 1080p videos at 30fps. As for the rear camera, it is made of a 12MP wide camera with an f/1.5-2.4 aperture, dual Pixel PDAF and OIS, another 12MP telephoto lens with am f/2.4 aperture AF, OIS and 2x optical zoom, lastly is a 16MP ultrawide camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The rear camera is equipped with an LED flash, auto HDR, Panorama as well as being able to record 4k, 1080p and 720p videos at 60, 240 and 960fps respectively. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus Hardware and Software

Like the other Samsung Galaxy devices, there are two versions available here depending on the market. One has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC on board which is a 7nm based chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz, paired with an Adreno 640 GPU.

The other has a Samsung Exynos 9820 SoC; an 8nm based chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 2.7GHz, paired with a Mali-G76 MP12 GPU. Regardless of the SoC in the one available in your region, they’ll both have either 8GB or 12GB of RAM with either 128GB, 512GB or 1TB of storage. Storage space can also be expanded further (up to 512GB) for the dual SIM variant which uses the Hybrid second SIM slot for a microSD card slot as well. It runs Samsung’s new One UI out of the box which is based on Android 9.0 Pie. This device is also IP68 certified which means it is water and dust proof.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Samsung Galaxy S10+ has a massive 4,100mAh battery capacity crammed into it with a 15W fast charging and also a 15W wireless charging. It can also be used as a power bank as it supports reverse wireless charging for Qi-compatible devices, with a maximum output of just 9W.

Other features of the Samsung Galaxy S10+ just like it’s sibling includes dual 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE, dual-band WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, FM radio, Heart rate sensor, Samsung DeX and a USB Type-C port with support for USB On The Go. Surprisingly, it still retains the 3.5mm jack which comes with Dolby Atmos/AKG sound.
