Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Price in Nigeria and Full Specs Review

Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus yesterday ahead of the 2018 Mobile World Congress starting today. In this article, I’ll be covering the Galaxy S9 Plus, the bigger version of the Galaxy S9 with a dual rear camera.

This is the first smartphone from Samsung’s Galaxy S series to sport the trending feature. It has a bigger 6GB of RAM, bigger screen and a much power battery among other features. Without further ado, meet the Galaxy S9 Plus.

DESIGN

A beauty to behold no doubt, it exudes class and style at first glance. Made completely from Aluminium Alloy and covered exquisitely with Corning Gorilla Glass. It is IP68 certified offering dust and water resistant and providing durability and assurance.

The vertical dual rear camera definitely adds to the beauty of the device, with its dual-LED flash right beside it. The rear fingerprint scanner is now underneath the dual shooters dishing out a sleek and premium vibe. It measures 8.5 mm in thickness, weighs 189g overall and available in Midnight Black, Coral Blue, Titanium Gray and Lilac Purple colours.

DISPLAY

A bigger screen for a bigger view, expand your horizons with the Galaxy S9 Plus huge bezel-less screen. The screen got 84.2% screen to body ratio, dishing out a Full View and Full Vision display. Protecting the screen is a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 offering scratch and water resistant.

The 6.2-inch Super AMOLED QHD+ capacitive touchscreen boasts of a resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels. The details on the screen should come out really great with a pixel per inch density standing at 529.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE

Powering the Galaxy S9 Plus is the Snapdragon 845 chipset from Qualcomm with Octa-core processor that clocks at 2.7 GHz for China and US versions. While the global version houses the Exynos 9810 chip from Samsung with Octa-core processor and reaches a clock speed of 2.8 GHz.

In the graphics department, the global version comes with the Mali-G72 MP18 graphics processor. While the China and US version has the Adreno 630 graphics processor. It comes with a bigger RAM space of 6GB RAM to handle heavy multitasking and fast app launching. In terms of storage, there are three versions, a standard one with 64GB, a bigger version with 128GB. Then there’s a more expensive variant with 256GB, the S9 Plus runs on Android 8.0 Oreo as well.

CAMERA

The highlight of the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is the dual rear 12MP + 12MP shooter that captures 4K resolution images. The first camera has a f/1.5 aperture and 1.4 µm pixel size, while the other 12MP underneath has a f/2.4 aperture and 1 µm pixel size.

Both will be working together to snap stunning photographs, with dual-LED flash ready for shooting in low light. You can record videos of 2160 pixels at 60 frames per second, 1080 pixels at 60 frames per second and 720 pixels at 90 frames per second. For selfies, the 8MP front shooter has a f/1.7 aperture for breathtaking selfies.

BATTERY

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is powered by a Non-Removable Li-Ion 3500mAh battery. It comes with the fast charging feature (Quick Charge 2.0) and Qi wireless charging as well.
