Sharp’s most anticipated smartphone of the year, the Sharp Aquos S3 has been launched with the trending notch display. The company is known for making smartphones with different bezel-less screen.
But it seems they’ve decided to go with the current trend on the iPhone X-like notch. Apart from the notch, the Aquos S3 boasts of 4GB of RAM, 64GB storage and dual rear camera. Let’s see what the device have in store for us today.

DESIGN
Sharp isn’t ready to let go of their bulky design pattern just yet. Nonetheless, the Metal overall body is beautiful and stunning as usual. Going with the current trend of dual rear vertical shooters at the top left corner.
Under the shooters lies the dual-LED flash for night shots, while the fingerprint scanner is in its usual position. The device may be a bit bulky, measuring 7.9mm in thickness and weighing just 165g. The S3 was launched in only Gold and Black colours.
Sharp Aquos S3: DISPLAY
Comes with a bezel-less screen with the trending top-notch. The top-notch is quite refreshing to see on the Sharp Aquos S3 after the company has literally tried all kinds of style. Furthermore, the top bezel houses the usual features while the bottom bezel has another Sharp logo on it.
The 6-inch FHD+ IGZO capacitive touchscreen is quite unique and beautiful. Everything on the screen should be quite detailed and sharp with 2160 x 1080 pixels in resolution and 402 pixels per inch density. Impressively, the screen stretches up to 84.70% screen to body ratio.
HARDWARE and SOFTWARE
Working underneath is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chip alongside 8-cores processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The processor reaches a speed of 2.2GHz and has an impressive 14nm process technology. Administrating graphics is the Qualcomm Adreno 508 graphics processor.
4GB of RAM space is available for all your heavy multitasking with a memory speed of 1.333GHz. While 64GB storage space is available to accommodate all files and apps. You can also upgrade up to 256GB as well, using a memory card. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Smile UX 5.0 skin.
Sharp Aquos S3: CAMERA
The dual 12MP + 13MP shooters at the rear have an f/1.8 aperture lens with 1.4 um Pixel Size and 6P lens. The cameras come with a dual-LED flash that helps to illuminate your photos in a dark environment. There is a 16MP selfie shooter with an f/2.0 aperture and face recognition technology as well.

The Sharp Aquos S3 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 3200mAh battery with fast charging technology.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
Sharp Aquos S3 will be available from April for $449 to $499, that’s about (N150,000 – N180,000).
