Sharp AQUOS Zero2 debuts with Android 10 & 240Hz refresh rate display

Sharp has announced the addition of three smartphones to their AQUOS family; Zero2, Sense3 and Sense3 Plus. The main focus is on the flagship device – Zero2, with little emphasis on the mid-rangers – Sense3 and Sense3 Plus.

AQUOS Zero2

The Sharp flagship device comes with a 6.4-inch curved OLED display, which features a 240Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution and waterdrop notch. While the 240Hz refresh rate is impressive, the 3,130 mAh battery capacity makes it hard for one to actually use this feature. High refresh rate drains battery life quickly. Even the new Asus ROG II with 120Hz refresh rate uses a 6,000 mAh battery, and still not considered enough.

The Zero2 weighs just 143 grams, which is extremely light. There is an in-display fingerprint reader with face unlock system. The waterdrop notch is home to 8MP selfie camera. While at the back is a dual-camera module consisting of a 12MP f/1.7 main sensor and 20MP f/2.4 (ultrawide) sensor.

Underneath the device is Snapdragon 855 SoC laced with an 8GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. The device will run on Android 10 and will be available by December in Astro Black and Misty White body colours.

Sense3

The AQUOS Sense3 features a 5.5-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and FHD+ resolution. The bottom bezel is home to fingerprint reader while top bezel houses the selfie camera with an 8MP sensor. At the back is a dual-camera featuring a 12MP f/2.0 main lens and a 12MP f/2.4 ultrawide lens.

AQUOS sense3

Inside the Sense3 is a Snapdragon 630 SoC with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The device runs on Android 9 Pie and features 4,000 mAh battery capacity.

Sense3 Plus

This is just a slight upgrade to the Sense3. It comes with a bigger display size measuring 6-inch, Snapdragon 636 SoC laced with 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB storage. Everything else is the same. For now, there is no official release date for both the Sense3 phones.
