Six months after the release of the Tecno Camon 12, the company has launched its successor – Tecno Camon 15. The flagship device comes with a pro variant called the “Tecno Camon 15 Pro”. The intriguing aspect of this Pro version is its pop-up selfie camera, which is the company’s first. However, it’s the same mechanism featured in other pop-up selfie camera phones like the Vivo 15, Vivo 15 Pro and Oppo F11 Pro.

Design
The Tecno Camon 15 Pro body build is front glass with plastic unibody. The front of the phone features only the display with a bottom chin, this is achieved thanks to the pop-up selfie camera. The back is home to the quad rear camera module and an anti-oil fingerprint sensor.
For some unknown reasons, Tecno Mobile decided a rear-mounted fingerprint reader is better than an in-display fingerprint reader featured on the Camon 12 Pro. Anyways, the phone comes in just two body colour options, which are Opal White and Ice Jadeite. The fingerprint sensor is not the only biometric security feature we have. It also supports face unlock 2.0 software.
Display
The display of the Camon 15 Pro is impressive, to say the least. It’s a full view AMOLED display that measures 6.53-inch in size and features 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution, 480nits brightness and 91.2% screen-to-body ratio. Last year’s Camon 12 Pro uses an AMOLED display panel but with a 720p resolution.
Hardware and Software
Running inside the Camon 15 Pro is the latest Android operating system (Android 10) with Tecno’s HiOS version 6. The Camon smartphone is powered by an Octa-core Helio P35 processor which clocks at 2.35 GHz and composed with PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The processor is laced with a RAM size of 6GB and storage size of 128GB. Extra storage is an option thanks to the microSD slot.
Camera
Arguably the best part of this device. The quad-camera module at the back is home to a 48MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide sensor with a 115° FoV (Field of View), a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP Ultra Night lens for taking night photographs. The Ultra Night lens features f/1.79 aperture and is supported by DSP (digital signal processor) chip.
Camera features include AR Mode, AI Body Shaping, e.t.c. The motorized pop-up selfie camera features a 32MP sensor with AI portrait mode, Face ID, and Face Beauty mode.
Battery
The Tecno Camon 15 Pro is juiced up with a 4,000 mAh battery capacity. This is a 500 mAh increase from the 3,500 mAh available on the Tecno Camon 12 Pro.
