Tecno officially launched its Camon 30 and 30 Pro smartphones back in February, highlighting a key difference between the two: the Pro model boasted 5G connectivity, powered by the Dimensity 8200 Ultimate chip, while the standard Camon 30 only supported 4G with the Helio G99 Ultimate. Following this, Tecno introduced the Camon 30S Pro, a 4G version of the Pro model, running on the Helio G100 chip.

This brings us to Tecno’s latest release—the Camon 30S, a 4G device that also features the Helio G100 processor. The phone offers multiple configurations, including 6GB or 8GB of RAM paired with 128GB or 256GB of storage. It also supports virtual RAM, effectively doubling the device’s memory capacity.
The Camon 30S mirrors some of the innovations introduced in the 30S Pro, such as a curved display and an IP rating. It boasts a 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, reaching a peak brightness of 1,300 nits. Additionally, the display offers 10-bit color with full DCI-P3 color space coverage and 2,160Hz PWM dimming for better eye comfort. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass, although the exact version remains unspecified.
As for durability, the phone is IP53-rated, providing dust and water resistance, with the touchscreen capable of functioning even when wet.
The rear camera setup remains consistent with the Camon 30S Pro, featuring a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX896) with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 2MP depth sensor. A dual-LED flash accompanies the camera. The front camera, however, is a 13MP sensor with a dual-LED flash, a downgrade from the 50MP selfie camera on the Pro version.
Audio features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, though the Camon 30S lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, a step back from the original Camon 30.
The battery capacity remains at 5,000mAh, but charging speed has been reduced to 33W, making the Camon 30S slower to charge compared to the 70W capability of its predecessor.
A notable aesthetic feature is the color-changing effect on certain models. For instance, the Blue variant shifts from light purple to dark blue when exposed to sunlight. Other color options include Nebula Violet, Celestial Black, and Dawn Gold.
Tecno Camon 30S Pricing and Availability
The Tecno Camon 30S is now available in Pakistan, with the 8GB/256GB model priced at PKR 60,000 (approximately $215/£165/€200). However, the color-changing Blue option is currently unavailable on the online store.
