Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Special Edition) Shows Off Revamped Design in Latest Leak

Samsung is reportedly developing a new variant of its flagship book-style foldable device, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Special Edition). This iteration is expected to showcase a significantly slimmer form factor compared to its predecessor. Recent renders shared by tipster Evan Blass provide a closer look at the device’s camera island and side frame design.

The renders indicate a transition to a rectangular camera island, replacing the pill-shaped design found on the standard model. If these images are accurate, the camera module’s protrusion has increased, complementing the overall thinner profile of the phone. Speculation suggests potential upgrades to the camera hardware—an enhancement that users have been eagerly awaiting since the Galaxy Z Fold 4 launched in 2022.

Further analysis of the side frame render reveals a sleeker design relative to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6. The frame boasts a textured finish for improved grip and introduces a rose gold color option. Despite these changes, the button placements and antenna lines remain unchanged from the regular model.

Notable tipster Ice Universe has also indicated that the display crease on the Z Fold 6 (Special Edition) will be less pronounced than that of the standard version. This improvement is particularly welcome, as previous models have shown limited advancements in this area.

It is essential to approach these renders with caution, as they are based on leaked information.

According to earlier leaks, the device is expected to measure 10mm when folded and 4.9mm when unfolded, a reduction from the original Z Fold 6’s dimensions of 12.1mm and 5.6mm, respectively. The new model may feature an 8-inch inner display (up from 7.6 inches) and a 6.5-inch outer display (up from 6.3 inches).

Samsung India has already listed the phone on its official website, which includes specifications for 12GB of RAM and storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The listing highlights an “Ultra-light, Thin Design,” indicating a focus on a lightweight form factor. While pricing details have not yet been announced, the listing suggests that a launch may be imminent.

Reports indicate that the device is currently available for pre-order in South Korea, with shipping expected to begin on October 25.
