On the 5^th of April, 2018, leading Chinese OEM company, TECNO Mobile launched new devices from its Camon Lines-the Camon X and X Pro into the African mobile market. The Camon X comes in two variants, the regular and the pro version. The pro version comes with higher specs than the regular, so stay glue if you want to know the major differences between the Camon X and the Camon X Pro.

The Camon series are camera-focused mid-range devices from Transsion sub-Brand-TECNO Mobile. They are known to produce high-quality pictures and incredible selfies.

In this article, we are going to be comparing the two devices (Camon X and the Camon X Pro) and seeing if you should stick to the regular, or just go for the Pro.

Both devices come with a sleek and beautiful design. On the outward, there is basically no difference in the shape and build. However, I noticed that the plastic casing that comes with the device doesn’t work for each other. That of the Camon X is slightly bigger. It means the Camon X is a bit longer than the Pro version but you can hardly notice the difference.

The Camon X Pro also has a gold accent around the edges while on the Camon X, the gold accent is found around the rear camera.

Both devices are made of plastic and have their fingerprint sensor at the back. Also, they both come with a Face ID feature and their audio jack has been moved to the bottom for easy access.

Both devices feature the slim bezel design which happens to the latest trend in mobile phone designs.  Both devices come with 6.0 inches display with 18:9 aspect ratio which gives you more view. They both feature a 2.5D Corning gorilla glass screen.

However, in terms of resolution, the Camon X Pro comes with a FullHD+ display with 2160 *1080 pixels while the Camon X comes with an HD+ screen display with a 1440 * 720 pixels resolution.

This is one of the disguisable aspects of both devices. While the Camon X comes with a 20MP front camera, that of the Camon X Pro is a 24MP for the front camera.

At the back, they both sport a 16MP camera with Quad-LED flash. Both devices come with the portrait mode for the front camera.

There is no much of a difference in terms of performance with devices running on  HiOS V3.3 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Under the hood, you get a MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.0GHz.

But where it matters here is in terms of RAM and storage.

The Camon X is powered by 3GB RAM and a 16GB ROM, while on the Camon X Pro, you have a 4GB RAM and a 64GB ROM.  Both devices can be expandable to 128GB via a MicroSD card.

The battery life of both devices is pretty awesome. For the first time, a mid-range TECNO Mobile device is featuring something higher than a 3,500mAh. Both devices feature a 3750mAh with the fast charge support.

This is also another place where there is a disparity. Even though they are but budget-friendly devices, the Camon X is projected to be cheaper. While the Camon X goes for N58,900, the Camon X Pro is rumoured to be N10,000 higher.
