TECNO POP 1S Full Specifications and Review

The TECNO POP 1S has been launched in Bangladesh as an update to the first generation POP 1 smartphone. The new device is tagged “FullView FullFun”, thanks to its 18:9 aspect ratio screen, the first from the POP series.

It boasts of a rapid 4G LTE connectivity for fast and quick internet access. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box and boasts 16GB storage space.

Design And Display

The new POP 1S device looks exquisite and stunning from the rear. It sports dual antenna lines which are curved to further beautify the body, there’s one on top and another at the bottom.

The rear camera takes its rightful position at the top left corner while the dual-LED flash comes underneath. The device is quite thick measuring 8.6mm in thickness, you can get it in Gold, Blue and Black colours.

The screen has fewer bezels compared to what we saw on the first version. This has an 18:9 aspect ratio and displays fuller visuals to those on a budget.

For watching movies, the 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 293 pixels per inch density for clear visuals. It stretches up to 73.86% of the entire front, while a 2.5D glass sits on top.

Hardware and Software

Running the race underneath is a chip from MediaTek, which was manufactured with a 28nm process technology. It has a 4-core processor clocking at 1.28GHz, while the ARM Mali-400 MP2 controls graphics.

It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition out of the box, so multitasking light apps with 1GB RAM shouldn’t be a problem. You also get 16GB to store all files, even though you can expand up to 128GB.

Camera, Network And Connectivity

The POP 1S is equipped with an 8MP rear camera with a dual-LED flash and all the normal features for detailed photographs. At the top bezel, the 5MP selfie camera has s LED flash as well.

The POP 1S supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB port, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

Battery, Price And Availability

The TECNO POP 1S is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3000mAh battery with no fast charging technology. TECNO POP 1S will be available on shopping stores, starting from $89 to $109, that’s about (N30,000 – N35,000).
