Tecno Pouvoir 2 air is the smaller, budget-oriented version of the Tecno Pouvoir 2, often referred to as the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Lite. Both smartphones bear a striking resemblance to each other and it would be almost impossible to tell it apart just from looking at it. The internals also bears some similarities like the battery capacity which stays at 5,000mAh on both devices despite the obvious cut down on various aspects of the Tecno Pouvoir 2 Air. Let’s get into detail.
Pouvoir 2 Vs TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air – Design & Display
As I said, the design and display of both devices are identical. Both devices sport a 6.0-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels, a pixel per inch density of 269 and an aspect ratio of 18:9, leaving enough room up top for the front-facing camera, speaker grill and LED flash.
Both devices are also made of plastic. Turning over to the back of the device is perhaps the first difference one would notice between the two. On the Tecno Pouvoir 2 is a Single camera Located at the top centre with the LED flash underneath and a fingerprint sensor under that as well. Tecno Pouvoir 2 air pushes the camera and LED flash to the top left side while leaving the fingerprint sensor at its usual spot – at the centre.
Both devices weigh about 174 grams thanks to the massive battery underneath and measure 8.5mm in thickness. Colour options available for both devices are City Blue, Midnight Black, Champagne Gold.
Hardware & Software
Here, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 is rocking the MediaTek MT6737 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with an ARM Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. Tecno Pouvoir 2 Air, on the other hand, is rocking the less powerful Mediatek MT6580A which has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Mali-400MP2 GPU.
Tecno Pouvoir 2 comes with 2GB of RAM while 2 Air comes with 1GB of RAM, Both of which has 16GB of internal storage. Both devices can also upgrade their storage via a microSD card, up to 128GB on the Tecno Pouvoir 2 and up to 64GB on the 2 Air. Tecno Pouvoir 2 runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box while 2 Air runs the Go Edition of Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, both of which comes with Tecno’s HiOS Skin on top.
Camera
We have a total of 4 cameras on both devices; two on each. At the back, both devices are sporting the same 13MP with an f/2.0 aperture, dual-LED flash, AutoFocus and Panorama. For selfies, the Tecno Pouvoir 2 sports an 8MP camera while the 2 Air sports a 5MP camera, both with an f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash for low light shots.
Battery & Connectivity
A massive 5,000mAh battery powers both devices with no support for fast charging on both. However, both devices have 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, Bluetooth and a micro USB port for battery charging and file transfer which also has support for USB On The Go.
TECNO Pouvoir 2 Vs TECNO Pouvoir 2 Air – Price
Both devices are already available and up for sale. Tecno Pouvoir 2 goes for about N40,000 – N42,000 while Tecno Pouvoir 2 Air goes for N30,000 – N35,000. It all depends on your budget. Is the extra money worth it for Tecno Pouvoir 2? Yes, but if you don’t have the extra money then the Pouvoir 2 Air is also a good option.
