TECNO Spark 5 Air Specs

The TECNO Spark 5 Air is the second smartphone to be announced by TECNO Mobile under the Spark 5 series. The first one being the vanilla TECNO Spark 5 which was also announced in Ghana.

Both smartphones have a lot in common as one will expect. One of the key highlights of the Spark 5 Air is its 7″ screen size, which makes it more of a tablet than a smartphone.

Design and Display

The Spark 5 Air design pattern is identical with that of the Spark 5 which is expected. It also comes in the same eye-catching body colours; Misty Grey, Ice Jadeite, Spark Orange and Vacation Blue.

The device measures a huge 9.05mm in thickness due to its big display and battery size. The front side of the phone features the waterdrop notch display with a chin at the bottom. Flip over to the back, we have the dual camera module at the top left-hand corner with the fingerprint reader on its side.

There aren’t too many 7-inch smartphones in the market right now, which makes the TECNO Spark 5 Air looks unique and extraordinary to a certain degree. The 7-inch waterdrop notch display features 720p resolution, 88% screen-to-body ratio and 480nits brightness. The big screen size means you get to enjoy videos/movies in a broader view.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood is the MediaTek Helio A22 chipset with an octa-core 2.0GHz CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. The chipset is coupled with a 2GB RAM and 32GB storage capacity. There is a dedicated microSD slot for additional storage. The TECNO phone runs on the new improved HiOS 6.0 skin which is based on Android 10 (Go edition). You get to enjoy the dark theme out of the box when you purchase this smartphone.

Camera and Battery Life

The TECNO Spark 5 Air comes with a dual-camera system. Though, at first look, it feels like it is a triple camera system. The supposed third camera is just an embellishment which shows that the phone features AI Camera 3.0 algorithm. The main camera is a 13MP sensor with a big f/1.8 aperture. The function of the second AI camera is unspecified. However, the phone features a quad-LED flash for clear and bright shots in a low-light environment. Inside the waterdrop notch is an 8MP selfie camera.

The smartphone packs a 5,000 mAh battery that is guaranteed to last you for the whole day on normal usage. It also comes with a power-saving system to ensure you don’t run out of juice quickly.
