UMIDIGI S3 Pro has now gone official, the company recently confirmed. The announcement of this next S-series flagship was made along with a giveaway. The S3 Pro — one of the first smartphones to feature the 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor — in addition to the soon-to-be-released Xiaomi Mi 9 and the Honor View 20, was unveiled on popular crowdfunding platform Indiegogo for $269 only. The new mobile device is expected to hit markets about one month from now, specifically on 18 March.
The UMIDIGI S3 Pro’s body is made of ceramic and comes with a glossy finish, which combines remarkably well with the metal frame, equally glossy — a design similar to that of the Mi Mix Series.
But that is just a tip of the iceberg as far the goodies this smartphone brings are concerned. It packs a massive, strong 5150m-Ah battery that has 18W quick charge support. Apart from this, this phone will run Android 9 Pie, straight out of the box.
Concerning the display, it is designed with the 6.3-inch FHD+ water-drop notch display with in-cell LTPS technology. Owing to the small notch and the thin bezels, the phone maker managed to come up with an impressive 92.7% screen-body ratio.
The 48-MP rear shooter on the device is 1/2 inch in size and makes the best use of pixel binning with a view to merging four 0.8-micron pixels into one for providing a large 1.6-micron pixel when you are taking a shot in low-light environments. Also, a secondary telephoto camera is featured on the phone to produce depth information and give 2x optical zoom. If you love taking selfies, as we all do, you will find its 20-MP high-res front sensor quite handy.
Furthermore, the UMIDIGI S3 Pro has a 3.5mm headphone jack, in addition to USB Type-C port. If you check under the hood, you will see the device processor — the AI SoC Helio P70 working in tandem with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM as well as 128GB of built-in storage. The smartphone features advanced AI and machine learning computation, thanks to its Multi-core & Multi-threaded APU.
