UMIDIGI Z2 is now officially available on shopping stores. The flagship smartphone is ready to battle other flagships released this year as well. The technology pioneer UMIDIGI boasts that the Z2 is the world’s first 6.2-inch FHD+ top-notch flagship phone.
A powerful flagship it is, packing a massive 6GB of RAM with 64GB storage space. You get bigger storage space on the Pro version though, but it’s still built around a notched screen with gradient colour options to choose from and Face ID feature.

UMIDIGI Z2 DESIGN
UMIDIGI took their time when creating this masterpiece, such a beauty to behold. It’s made from aluminium alloy but covered in glass, this makes the back reflect light in the most stunning way. It comes in so three beautiful colours as well.
Just like on the A1 Pro, the dual shooters are vertical at the top middle this gives off a simple vibe at the rear. The fingerprint scanner comes underneath the dual cameras, while the LED flash sits beside it. It measures 8.3mm in thickness when you turn over to the sides and weighs 165g overall. You can get it in Twilight, Phantom and Black.
UMIDIGI Z2 DISPLAY
The Z2 brought the trending notched screen and it fits perfectly on the front. Although there’s a little chin at the bottom corner, while the notch isn’t as small as expected. It houses dual selfie cameras, speaker grille and sensors.
The flagship device is built around a tall 6.2-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This boasts of 1080 x 2246 pixels in resolution and 403 pixels per inch density, which is incredibly brilliant. The screen stretches up to 85% screen to body ratio with Reading mode and Color temperature adjustments.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Powering up the UMIDIGI Z2 up is the Helio P23 chip from MediaTek, it’s built on a 16nm process technology for improved power efficiency. The Octa-core processor on this chip clocks at a fast speed of 2.0GHz, while the ARM Mali G71 MP2 graphics card takes care of graphics.
For fast and smooth multitasking of heavy apps, there’s 6GB of RAM available with a memory speed above 1GHz. While for storing files, there’s 64GB storage space available as well. You can upgrade up to 256GB whenever you need more space. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with stock UI.
UMIDIGI Z2 CAMERA
The Z2 is equipped with dual 16MP + 8MP shooter combination from Samsung. The cameras have f/2.0 aperture and other features like a 5-element lens, Low light enhancement, Panorama, Burst mode, Real-time filters, dual-LED flash and shoot 4K videos. Another 16MP + 8MP camera combination is present on the notch with f/2.0 aperture, Selfie countdown and Face ID.
BATTERY
The UMIDIGI Z2 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 4050mAh battery with fast charging technology.

UMIDIGI Z2 is available on shopping stores, starting from $249 to $250, that’s about (N85,000 – N100,000).
