How to Use Screen Time on iPhone and iPad

  • Launch the Settings App and Click On “Screen Time” underneath Do Not Disturb.
  • Once your get to the screen time Menu, Click on “Turn on Screen Time”
  • You’ll be presented with two options to choose from which includes “Set this feature as a parent” and “Continue as a general user”
  • If you’re setting this for your child then select the “Set this feature as a parent” option and if you’re setting it for yourself then select the “continue as a general user” option.
  • After Choosing one, Click on Continue.
  • Now, You’ll be required to set a passcode so as to be able to make changes to your screen time settings discreetly and also to prevent others from making changes to your screen time settings. This also prevents your child (if you chose set this feature as parent) from making change to the settings you already put in place.
  • After providing the passcode, everything is all set and recording. Now you’ll get weekly/monthly reports about your smartphone usage or your child’s smartphone usage and will be able make change and limit certain things if you want to.

Now that the screen feature has been activated and up and running, you can go into the settings of the screen time feature and play around with the options which include Downtime, App Limits, Always allowed, Content & Privacy restrictions among other things.
