Chinese smartphone maker, Vivo has announced their latest mid-range device – Vivo S5. The phone debuts a week after the company posted its official poster on Weibo.
The Vivo S5 features a Super AMOLED display panel which measures 6.4-inch in size. The display features 20:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution and has 91.38% screen-to-body ratio. Underneath the AMOLED display is the fingerprint reader for your biometric security.
There is a punch-hole on the top right corner of the AMOLED display. This punch-hole houses the 32MP selfie camera. At the back of the device is a Quad camera module. The module features a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 5MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera.
The Vivo S5’s camera comes with an amazing super beauty algorithm. There is also a poster correction feature with 144 poses. This poster feature will ensure you pose better when taking pictures. For a mid-range device, this is awesome.
Inside the Vivo phone is the Snapdragon 712 SoC which is laced with an 8GB RAM and has two storage options; 128GB and 512GB. The memory configuration doesn’t feel like mid-ranger, the configuration is usually for high-end/flagship devices. The battery spec is 4,100 mAh and supports 22.5W fast battery charging.
The Vivo S5 comes in three body colour options; Icelandic Blue, Phantom Blue and Star Black. The 128GB storage model costs CNY2,698/$385/€350 while the 512GB model costs CNY2,998/$427/€390. The device is expected to go on sale on November 22 in China. For now, there is no word on the availability for other markets/regions.
