Vivo Y83 Design
It was designed by aluminium alloy and it reflects light beautifully, just as expected. Vivo totally ignored the dual rear camera trend on this one and brought just a single rear camera with the LED flash right beside it.
There’s also a rear fingerprint scanner at its usual position, just in case you’re not in the mood for Face ID. It measures 7.7 mm in thickness and it’s quite lightweight, weighing just 150g overall. You can get it in Black, White and Red colours.
Vivo Y83 Display
Flowing with the current trend, the Y83 comes with the notch screen. This allows the screen to stretch all the way to the top with a notch in place. The notch is also super minimal, while the bottom chin came out to play as well.
The tall 6.22-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen dishes out the FullView display. The screen boasts of 1520 x 720 pixels in resolution and 270 pixels per inch density. It also stretches up to 83% screen-to-body ratio, which is brilliant.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, the MediaTek Helio P22 MT6762 chipset does its job. The chip was built on a 12nm process technology, so power efficiency should be great. The 8-cores of processor here clocks at 2GHz tops. While the PowerVR GE8320 graphics card takes care of graphics.
There’s a standard 4GB of RAM on the device that handles multitasking, it has an advanced memory speed of 933MHz. In the storage department, you’ll get 32GB space, there’s an expensive variant with 64GB as well. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with Funtouch OS 4.0 skin on top.
Vivo Y83 Camera
Vivo opted for just a single camera here, the 13MP shooter has f/2.2 aperture and comes with a LED flash and other features. While the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture as well and supports Face ID.
