Xiaomi 15 Pro, first with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, may get bigger cameras

The Xiaomi 15 Pro, a phone still months away from release, may get some exciting updates. Greater and more advanced camera sensors, particularly for its telephoto capabilities, are expected to be included in this flagship gadget. According to recent claims from Digital Chat Station, the JN1 sensor in the telephoto camera may be swapped out with a larger one that might have periscope technology like that of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

One of the standout features of the Xiaomi 15 Pro will be its Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, slated to launch alongside the phone in late 2024, coinciding with the expected release of Qualcomm’s latest SoC. This chipset is expected to deliver significant performance gains compared to its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The new Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is rumored to feature custom Arm cores developed by Qualcomm, with a revised core arrangement that emphasizes performance over efficiency. The chip will be manufactured using TSMC’s cutting-edge 3nm process, promising enhanced performance and power efficiency.

In addition to its advanced camera and powerful chipset, the Xiaomi 15 Pro is anticipated to retain features like a 2K micro-curved screen similar to its predecessor, a sizable battery with fast charging capabilities, and Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS. This cutting-edge hardware and software combination makes the Xiaomi 15 Pro a highly anticipated device in the flagship smartphone market.
