Xiaomi is reportedly gearing up to enter the clamshell-style foldable smartphone market with a new device called the Mix Flip. Recent sightings of the phone on China’s 3C certification site suggest that its launch could be imminent.
While the certification listing doesn’t directly confirm the device as the Mix Flip, industry insiders have connected the model number 2405CPX3DC to this upcoming phone. Notably, the certification also indicates support for 67W fast charging.
Details about the Mix Flip’s specifications are still scarce from the 3C listing. However, its appearance on the certification site confirms that Xiaomi is actively developing its first clamshell-style foldable phone, hinting at a potential release in the near future.
According to information from Digital Chat Station, a reliable tipster, Xiaomi may unveil the Mix Flip alongside the Mix Fold 4 in the third quarter of 2024.
Reportedly, the Mix Flip will feature a 50MP primary camera with optical image stabilization and an Omnivision OV60A ½.8” sensor for the 2x telephoto camera. The device is expected to support wireless charging and may include water resistance—a notable addition since none of Xiaomi’s previous foldable phones have been certified for water protection. Powering the device could be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
