ZTE Axon 9 Pro has been introduced by ZTE after the company kept mute for over a year. The flagship smartphone runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and powered by the Snapdragon 845.
It comes with a notch, a bulky one, with a super minimal bottom chin. The screen is an AMOLED panel and it’s quite tall at 6.21-inch. Axon’s powerful stereo speakers are present with Dolby Atmos as well.

Design And Display
The Axon 9 Pro sports an aluminium alloy overall unibody. We can see the fingerprint scanner at its usual position. The dual rear cameras are horizontal at the top left corner, while the LED flash comes underneath.
The phone comes with IP68 Certifications offering water and dust resistant. Impressively, it’s also quite slim measuring 7.9mm in thickness. You can get it in Black and Blue colours.
The device sports the notch, but we are a little bit disappointed. The notch is quite bulky compared to the minimal notch we’ve seen on innovative smartphones, like the water-drop display. Nonetheless, it sports a 6.21-inch FHD+ AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. This has a resolution of 1080 x 2248 pixels and 402 pixels per inch density. The screen also stretches up to 83.3% screen-to-body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Running the show is the Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm. The chip comes with its 10nm process node and 8-cores of processor clocking at 2.8GHz. In the graphics department, the Adreno 630 graphics card controls graphics.
For multitasking, you get 6GB of RAM space available to do the job with a memory speed of 1866MHz. In the storage department, the device is loaded with 128GB. It also runs on stock Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box as well.
Camera And Connectivity
The phone is equipped with dual 12MP + 20MP rear camera, the 12MP main sensor has f/1.8 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, OIS, dual pixel PDAF. While the 20MP depth sensor enables background blur with 10mm lens. There’s another 20MP shooter on the notch for selfies.
The Axon 9 Pro supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It also has support for Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type C, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.
Battery And Availability
The ZTE Axon 9 Pro is powered by a non-removable 4000mAh battery with fast and wireless charging technology. ZTE Axon 9 Pro will be available on shopping stores, starting from $699 to $799, that’s about (N220,000 – N260,000).
