ZTE Nubia Z18 Launched with Snapdragon 845 and Dual Rear cameras

ZTE Nubia Z18 has been introduced in China with a unique kinda notch. No, this is not the water-drop display. The Nubia Z18 sports an Essential-like notch with curved IPS LCD display.

The flagship smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset with 8GB RAM variant. It also sports dual rear cameras with f/1.6 aperture respectively for advanced photography. Let’s find out more.

Design And Display

The Nubia Z18 was built mainly with aluminium alloy and has a gradient feel when it comes in contact with light. There’s a rear fingerprint scanner as well for quick access to the phone.

Of course, the dual rear camera is horizontal at the top left corner with the LED flash sitting beside them. Furthermore, it measures 8.6mm in thickness when you turn to the sides and weighs 172g overall.

The device sports the selfie-notch at the top which houses the selfie camera. The screen also stretches all the way to the sides enabling a curved display. It has a tall 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 403 pixels per inch density for sharp visuals. The screen also stretches up to 85.8% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Sitting behind the beautiful screen is the powerful Snapdragon 845 chip from Qualcomm. The chip comes with an 8-core processor clocking at a fast speed of 2.65GHz as well.  This is aided with the Adreno 630 graphics processor.

There are two versions when it comes to RAM and storage space. There’s one with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage space, while a cheaper variant has 6GB RAM and 64GB storage space. The device runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Nubia UI 6.0 on top.

Camera And Connectivity

For photography, the phone is equipped with dual 24MP + 16MP camera with f/1.6 aperture respectively. It shoots 4K videos @ 30fps as well. Coming with its own notch is an 8MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.

The Nubia Z18 supports 4G LTE connectivity and accommodates dual Nano SIMs. It also has support for Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type C, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS.

The ZTE Nubia Z18 is powered by a non-removable 3450mAh battery with fast charging technology. ZTE Nubia Z18 will be available on shopping stores, starting from $399 to $499, that’s about (N140,000 – N160,000).
