#Friendsday Video 2017, and popular social network; Facebook is celebrating its 13th birthday today in grand style. To make the day worthwhile for the Facebook community, Facebook has started rolling out globally, #Friendsday video.
You will begin to see this on your Newsfeed as soon as Facebook has created one for you, but the CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg is the first to join in the fun by sharing his own personalized video on his page.
Meanwhile, Facebook has announced its Quarterly results, Progress made, and challenges faced during the year. See the official statement from Mark Zuckerberg.
We just announced our quarterly results and gave an update on our progress in building a global community.
Our community now has almost 1.9 billion people, including 1.2 billion people active every day. More than 65 million small businesses use Facebook to connect with their customers.
Our biggest focus continues to be putting video first across our family of apps. More than 150 million people now use Instagram Stories every day. We’ve launched our new camera in Messenger and have started rolling it out in Facebook as well.
We have a lot more work ahead as we continue building the community we all want — one that is informed, supportive, safe, and a force for good in the world. Thank you for being a part of this journey to connect the world.
The latest statistics on their website also show that 1.04 billion daily active users were recorded on average for December 2015; over the past five years, the community has more than doubled in size, said Facebook, a sign that the world has “grown more interconnected”.
“We figured that rather than having this birthday that focuses on us, we should make sure that the world focus on what’s important that’s actually happening, which are only stories of how people are connecting around the world and it’s just amazing and it’s inspiring to hear,” said Mr Zuckerberg in an earlier press statement. “And that’s the whole point of Friends Day. We felt like the world was making it too much about us and it’s not about us.”
Facebook has also released special sticker packs labeled “Best Friends” and “Friendship” to commemorate the special occasion.
