How to Fix Unfortunately Google play store has stopped error message

Fix 1:

  • Disable Play Store, Clear Data and Cache
  • Open your device Settings.
  • Now look for Apps/Applications in the Settings menu and tap it.
  • Swipe the app page from right to left to see the list of all apps present on your device.
  • Scroll down to Google Play Store app and tap it.
  • On the App info page, tap the Clear cache, then Force stop then disable buttons. Uninstall and then restart the app. Check if the error has gone.

If the issue still persists, go to the Settings> Apps> All> Google Play Store again and tap Clear data option. Reboot the phone and try again.

Fix 2: Flash Google Apps

On the off chance that you are using a CM, AOSP, AOKP, Omni, Slim or some other custom ROM on your phone or tablet and still experiencing the “Unfortunately Google play store has stopped” error message, then you should install the GAPPS, -Google apps flashable zip based on the Android version of your ROM.

We suggest installing an apps package recommended by the ROM developer. Download the Google apps zip package, flash/install it using CWM/TWRP/PhilZ recovery, and reboot your device.

1. Google Play Store Error 505 and Error code -103

Fix 1:

  • Clear Cache and Data of Google Play Store
  • Go to Settings, Click on Apps or Applications option.
  • Now, swipe right further to open all tab.
  • Now, scroll down and look for the Google Play Store app. Click on it.
  • Here, you will see two buttons – 1. Clear Cache and 2. Clear Data. Click on them.

2. Google Play Store Error 495

The Google play store error 495 gives the error message as Problem downloading or updating apps from Play Store which will cause a problem while you download or update apps from the Play store app on your device.

How to fix it 
You can fix this issue by deleting the Google Play Store and Google Services Framework data in Settings. Open the system Settings app and navigate to Apps> All> Google Play Store> Clear data. Now, delete data from Google Services Framework as well. This will assign a new Google ID to your device, so your apps might act a little wonky for some time but it won’t be permanent.

Once you clear the data, delete your Google account on the device and reboot. Link your Google account again in Settings> Accounts> Add Account> Google Account. Now you can seamlessly download or update apps from Google Play Store.

3. Google Play Store Error 498

This error occurs when the cache partition of your device is full causing frequent interruption of downloads from Google Play Store.

How to fix it 

  • Delete unnecessary apps and related files; you could use any recommendable cache cleaning application to wipe unnecessary cache history.
  • After cleaning the cache partition, reboot your phone into recovery mode (that is if it doesn’t reboot by itself) and formatting the cache partition. However, your data and file will remain undeleted.

4. Google Play Store Error 941

Sometimes, you see an Error 941 while updating apps from Play Store. This is due to some Interruption during the update which will keep on stopping you from updating apps.

How to Fix

Open the Settings app, navigate to Apps> All> Google Play Store and clear both cache and data. Open the Download Manager and clear cache and data for it too. Now try to update the apps again, you should be able to download now without any problem.

  1. Go to settings > Apps > Select the “All” tab. From the “All” apps list > Find Google Play Store > Clear Data and Cache. It will free up the memory of the phone and allow the play store to install an application easily.
