HTC Desire 12s was just announced, the new Smartphone is a budget device from HTC sporting the Snapdragon 435 SoC, A 3,075mAh battery capacity and weird looking single camera at the back. Let’s take a look at what this budget device has to offer.

HTC Desire 12s Design And Display

There is no word on if the HTC Desire 12s uses Glass or Plastic but given that it is a budget device, it most likely uses plastic for the body. The fingerprint sensor is at the usual spot at the back of the device and on top of that is weird looking single camera with an LED flash flash by the side.

The display is a 5.7-inch IPS display with 720p screen resolution with 282ppi. The display features an older 18:9 aspect ratio with enough room up top for the camera, speaker grill and sensor. At the bottom is also small chin. Overall the device weighs just 150 grams, measures 8.3mm in thickness and has three colour options – Black, Silver and Red.

HTC Desire 12s Camera Review

HTC Desire 12s rear camera is a single 13MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, HDR, Panorama and an LED flash for low light photography. For selfies, there is also another 13MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. Both the rear camera and front facing camera can record 1080p videos at 30fps.

The SoC is a Snapdragon 435 Chipset with an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with an Adreno 505 GPU. The device comes in two configurations – a 3GB RAM Variant with 32GB of internal storage and a 4GB RAM Variant with 64GB of internal storage – both of which are expandable via the dedicated MicroSD card slot, up to 512GB. This device runs the Android Operating System (8.1 Oreo) out of the box with HTC UI on top.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Keeping the lights on HTC desire 12s turned on is a 3,075mAh battery with no fast charging. However, the device has 4G LTE capabilities, WiFi, Wifi direct, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth with A2DP, LE and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. There is also a microUSB 2.0 port for file transfer and battery charging.

Price And Availability

The device is already up for sale in Taiwan with a starting price of TWD 5,990 ($195) for the 3GB/32GB variant and TWD 6,990 ($225) for the bigger 4GB/64GB Variant.
