The Huawei Mate X3 is now official and has impressive specs and features. It is a much lighter foldable phone, and it weighs around 240 grams which is 24 grams lighter than the Fold 4. The low weight didn’t mean that Huawei had to compromise on other aspects of the device. It is only 5.3 mm thick, with a bigger battery, a bigger display, and a periscope zoom lens.
The device has two 120Hz foldable displays, and the cover screen is sized at 6.4 inches while the inner display is sized at 7.85 inches with a 2496 x 2224 resolution. It is a waterproof foldable phone with an IPX8 standard rating, the same as what is on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. This is the first non-Samsung foldable phone to come with a water resistance rating.

Huawei also added the two-way satellite communication feature on the Mate X3. The new hinge design tucks the folding display on itself, and it can close down flat. It has a minimal crease, but perhaps a closer look will tell a better story. The phone has a slim form factor but that doesn’t stop it from being a tripod for selfies in certain angles.
Huawei Mate X3 Specs & Price
There is also a split screen mode for video calls and video watching and a nightstand mode that shows the weather and time. The Mate X3 has three cameras at the back and two 8MP selfie cameras on each screen. It has a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP telephoto camera.
The Huawei Mate X3 runs on Harmony OS 3.1 and is powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with 12GB RAM. It has only 4G connectivity because Huawei can buy 5G modems because of the ban imposed on them.
The phone has a 4800mAh battery, and it supports 66 watts of wired charging and 50 watts of wireless charging. It will be available in China, with no word on global availability yet. The device has a starting price of CNY 12 999 (1,999 USD) for the 256GB model and CNY 13 999 (2050 USD) for the 512GB model. You must spend CNY 15,999 (2,340 USD) for the 1TB Model.
