Itel A33 Full Specs Review and Price

After the Launch of itel P33 and P33 Plus, Itel quietly added another new and cheaper offering – Itel A33 – to its portfolio. The new budget device has a 5-inch display with the old 16:9 aspect ratio, a MediaTek MT6580 SoC on the inside with 1GB of RAM running on the Go Edition of Android. It also has 8GB of expandable storage, Two cameras; one at the back and one up front and a 2,200mAh battery with obviously no fast charging.

itel A33 Plus Design And Display

itel A33 features a very basic design which is understandable given its price and for intended users – low-income earners. The body is made of plastic as expected. At the back of the device is a single rear-facing camera with an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for biometric Authentication/Verification.

Turning over to the front is the 16:9 shaped 5.0-inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 480 x 845 and a ppi of 219. It weighs just 123grams and measures 8.3mm in thickness. Only the Champagne Gold, City Blue and Piano Black colour options are available for now and no word on if there will be other colours options. There are two SIM Card slots here with a separate slot for a microSD card.

 Camera Review

This device has just two cameras in total, One at the front and another at the back. At the back is a 5MP shooter with an LED flash that can shoot 720p videos at 30fps. The front facing 2MP camera is also equipped with an LED flash and has FaceUnlock a.k.a FaceID which can be used for identification or verification.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood of the Itel A33 is the MediaTek MT6580 SoC based on 32nm FinFET process technology and has a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with a Mali 400 MP2 GPU. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo Go edition which will have the Itel Skin on top of it. There is 1GB of RAM for a smooth multitasking Experience and 8GB of storage for files. You can expand the storage further up to 32GB with a microSD card through the MicroSD card slot on board.

Battery & Network Connectivity

A small 2,2000mAh battery sits on the inside of the device bringing it to life. No fast charging through but given the capacity, it should fill up pretty quickly. There is also no 4G here. However, there is WiFi, WiFi direct, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5mm Jack, 3G, 2G and a micro USB port for file transfer and charging.

Itel A33 will have a starting price of about N20,000 once it hits the shelves which should be anytime soon as there is no specific date.
