Itel P33 Launched in Nigeria, Specs and Price

Itel P33 is a new entry-level smartphone that was launched alongside the P33 Plus in Nigeria packing a massive 4,000mAh battery for those who want a huge battery but on a budget. However, there is no fast charging which is expected given its cheap price.

It also runs Android 8.1 Oreo on it 1GB of RAM which is coupled with an expandable 16GB of internal storage. It has a dual rear camera at the back which is accompanied by an LED flash and also a fingerprint sensor. The device is an upgrade to last year’s iTel P32

Design And Display

Itel P33 uses a plastic back which has the fingerprint sensor, dual rear cameras and an LED flash on it. The front has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display in an 18:9 aspect ratio, leaving enough room at the top for the front-facing camera which can also be used for FaceID. Colour options available are Blue, Black and Gold. It uses a dual SIM slot and has a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.

Itel P33 Camera Review

The dual rear camera combination at the back of the Itel P33 Comprises of a main 8MP shooter with an f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 5MP sensor. It is equipped with an LED flash for low light shots and can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps. The front-facing unit is a single 5MP shooter with an f/2.0 aperture, AI Face recognition and can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.

Hardware and Software

Inside the Itel P33 is the MediaTek MT6580 SoC which is a Quad-core chipset clocked at 1.3GHz paired with a Mali 400 MP2 GPU. This is hooked up to the 1GB of RAM which runs the Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition effortlessly. The 16GB of storage available on this device can be expanded to 32GB via the onboard microSD slot.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Powering this device is a hefty 4,000mAh battery which is probably the highlight of this device. There is no fast charging here or 4G LTE Connectivity. However, there are 3G, 2G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFi hotspot, a 3.5mm jack and a micro USB port with support for USB On The Go.

Itel P33 Price and Availability

The device hasn’t been officially launched in Nigeria but it has been in Kenya where it costs Ksh 6,999 which is approximately N28,000.
