Nokia 7 launches with Snapdragon 630 and 4GB of RAM in China

Nokia just released their newest member, as the Nokia 7 Android smartphone has become official in China. The Nokia 7 is the first Android smartphone from the tech brand that’s sporting a glass back. The device which is a follow up to other Android-powered Nokia smartphones released in this year will be available in Gloss Black (pictured above) and Matte White.

Design

It sure looks premium, if only you can ignore the huge amount of bezels on the front. It has IP54 certification, meaning it’s splashproof. The Nokia 7 is not water resistant but you can operate it while under a soft rain.

The screen is protected with the 3D Corning Gorilla Glass. It has 7’s frame which is 7000 series aluminium with diamond cut bevelled edges. The fingerprint sensor on the Nokia 7 is situated at the back.

Display

The Nokia 7 sports a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. With just 73.8% screen-to-body ratio, I think Nokia is not yet ready for the Bezel-less trend from other smartphone brands.

Hardware And Software

Inside the Nokia 7, you’ll find the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 chipset and an Octa-core of 2.2 GHz Cortex-A53. Paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM, operating the Nokia 7 should be one smooth ride. It comes with microSD cards supported for expanding the 64GB storage to 256GB. It comes with the Android 7.1.1 which is upgradeable to 8.0 if you want.

Camera

The main camera on the Nokia 7 is a 16MP shooter with f/1.8 aperture, 1.12um pixels, and a dual LED flash. For your beautiful selfies, you have a 5MP snapper with f/2.0, sharp 1.4um pixels and an 84-degree field-of-view.

Battery

The Nokia 7 is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery with a feature for 18W fast charging.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

It will be available first in China on October 24 for CNY 2,499 (that’s around $377, €320 or N140,000) for the 4GB of RAM version, and CNY 2,699 ($407, €345 or N150,000) for the 6GB version. Currently, we have no idea about when (or if) the Nokia 7 will be available in other countries.
