Nubia is being creative in terms of a gaming smartphone. The Red Magic series is no longer the only gaming smartphone series for the company. While the series caters for high-end users, Nubia has launched a new gaming smartphone series to cater to mid-range users. The first smartphone for this line is the Nubia Play 5G, which was announced today in China.
It comes with a 6.65-inch AMOLED display featuring 1080p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. Underneath the display is the fingerprint scanner. The classic top bezel features a 12MP selfie camera. While aligned in a vertical position at the back is the main camera module. The module is home to a 48MP main SonyIMX582 sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor and a two 2MP sensors.
To enhance gaming performance, the smartphone features two capacitive shoulder buttons on the right-hand side. Powering the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with 5G modem support. The gaming chipset is paired with either a 6GB or an 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB UFS2.1 storage. Software-wise, the gaming phone runs on the latest Android 10 covered with nubiaUI 8.0 skin.

The smartphone is already available for pre-order in China while official sales start on April 24. Body colour options are White, Blue, and Black. The 6/128GB model costs CNY2,400/$340. The second memory option is the 8/128GB which goes for CNY2,700/$380. Then finally the 8/256GB model which sets you back at CNY3,000/$425.
