Samsung W2019 flip phone Announced with Snapdragon 845 and two AMOLED screens

Samsung just announced a new flip phone with flagship features which is gonna be for the Chinese market only – at least for now. This device is not to be confused with the foldable phone Samsung is reportedly working on as that is still underway. The Samsung flip phone carries the name “W2019” and has two 4.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution.

When the device is closed, you’re greeted with the first screen and when you flip it open, you’ll see yet another screen at the back of the first screen with a set of number dial pad and some navigation buttons down below. The fingerprint on this device is located at the side, different from the back and under-display that has pretty much taken over the smartphone industry.

Insides the device is a top of the line Snapdragon 845 processor which is paired with 6GB of RAM and either a 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. If you happen to need more storage then you can expand further via the MicroSD card slot which is available. At the back of the device is a dual camera of 12MP with f/1.5-2.4 aperture alongside a telephoto camera. For selfies, an 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture does the job. Powering the device is 3,070mAh battery capacity which is charged through a USB Type-C port.

The flip phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with Samsung’s UI on top. The fingerprint Isn’t the only thing at the side of the device as there is also a button that wakes up Samsung’s own assistant – Bixby. The overall thickness of the device (when closed) stands at 17.3mm with the top part slimmer than the bottom part. The Samsung W2019 comes in two colours options – silver and gold. As of now, more details Haven’t been made available, like of it would support wireless charging given it’s glass body. The price as well as the when the device will go on sale is still unknown at this point.
