Vivo has announced their second smartphone this month – the Vivo V17. Earlier this month, the Chinese company released the Vivo Z1x.
The new Vivo V17 Pro which is an upper mid-range device comes with a 6.44 inches AMOLED display. The company refers to the display as “Ultra FullView Display”. These days it seems every smartphone company has a name for their display. Underneath the display of the Vivo V17 Pro is a fingerprint reader and there is no notch whatsoever on the device. It comes with a pop-up selfie mechanism on the top frame.
The pop-up mechanism sports two cameras featuring a 32MP main lens and an 8MP wide-angle lens. At the back, we have a quad-camera setup, which is really impressive.
This setup comprises of a 48MP Sony IMX582 main sensor, 13MP telephoto sensor with 2x zoom, an 8MP ultrawide-angle sensor, and 2MP depth sensor. Don’t think it can get better than this for a mid-range device right now.
Inside the Vivo V17 Pro, we have a Snapdragon 675 SoC slapped with an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. It runs on Vivo’s Funtouch OS 9.1 which is based on Android 9 Pie and features Game Mode and Multi-Turbo. A decent 4,100 mAh battery is available as juice for this phone and it supports 18W Dual-Engine fast charging.
The Vivo V17 Pro is available in Crystal Black and Crystal Sky body colours. It is scheduled to go on sale in India on September 27 with a starting price of $420/€380.
