Xiaomi recently launched a new budget smartphone called Mi Play in china. The smartphone is a budget device and as such comes with budget specs and price tag which includes a MediaTek Helio P35 Soc, 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage and a 3,000mAh battery. Xiaomi Mi Play Design And Display
The design of the Xiaomi Mi Play looks nothing like a budget device. It features a glossy gradient back which looks stunning in the three colours available – Blue, Red and Black. The dual cameras are placed at the top left side of the device’s back with the LED flash underneath. Fingerprint sensor stays at the centre as always.
Turning over to the front is the water drop notch taking a chunk out of the 5.84-inch LCD 1080p display which houses the front facing camera. At the bottom is also a Chin. As usual, the Volume and Power buttons are on the side with the SIM tray.
Xiaomi Mi Play Camera Review
Xiaomi Mi Play had a total of 3 cameras. The two at the back comprises of a main 12MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and a secondary 2MP camera. The rear camera is equipped with an LED flash for low light photography and an AI mode for an overall better shots. For selfies, there is a single 8MP camera in the water drop notch for that.
Xiaomi Mi Play Hardware and Software
Xiaomi Mi Play comes with the new MediaTek Helio P35 SoC which is a 12nm Chipset with 8 cores and a maximum clock speed of 2.3GHz paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics/gaming. This device only comes in one configuration which has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with MIUI on top of course.
Battery & Network Connectivity
A 3,000mAh battery powers the device with the normal 10W charging through the microUSB port. Other features include 4G LTE Connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot and GPS.
Price and Availability
The Xiaomi Mi Play costs ¥1099 which is about $150. This device is currently only available in china and there is no word yet on if it word make it out of china. Also, Xiaomi are also offering 10GB 4G monthly data for a whole year if you get one.
