How To Use Dual SIM on iPhone 14

Do you want to know how to use a Dual SIM on iPhone? You’re on the right page. During the Apple event days ago, we saw that new iPhones now support dual SIMs, making it the first device from Apple with such a feature. Although, this might not actually work in most countries depending on where you are.

In the United States, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max come with a single physical SIM slot, however, it’s also augmented with an eSIM. This means that one of the carriers you want to use must support the eSIM capability. That’s the only way you can actually use the Dual SIM function, most especially in the US. But look on the bright side, this should motivate carriers to welcome the eSIM reality.

How does dual SIM work on the iPhone?

Even if you want to use Dual SIM on the latest iPhone, the device must be unlocked first. If Verizon or Sprint is your service provider, then, of course, your second SIM will not support CDMA. To start using the eSIM, you have to activate your cellular plan with a QR code provided by your carrier. You can also store more than one eSIM in your device, but you have to use just one at a time.

However, there will be a global version for other markets like China, Hong Kong, Macau and others. The global version will allow you to use Dual SIMs on your latest iPhone Max easily. The dual SIM will basically sit on top of each other in the slot and it supports Dual SIM Dual Standby as well. This should enable you to make and receive calls on both lines, however, whenever you’re on a call and there’s an incoming call on the other number, it will go to voicemail.

You can also label each SIM card and choose the one you want to use as your default line. Also, note that the second line will only be available for data. Whenever you call a contact, your iPhone will choose the same number you used last time to make it easier.
