Infinix Hot 7 and Tecno Spark 3 both arrived not long ago sporting some similarities and evidently some Differences. They are also the latest instalment in their respective lines; Infinix Hot 7 is the latest in the Hot Series and Spark 3 is the latest in the Spark Series.
Both devices are in the same price bracket and a lot of people will have a tough time deciding which is a better device. To find the answer to that, we’ll have to go through what they have to offer.
Infinix Hot 7 Vs TECNO Spark 3 – Design & Display
In terms of design and display, both of these devices look identical. At the front is a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display on both devices with a bathtub notch housing the camera, speaker grill and other sensors. There is also a significant amount of chin at the bottom.
Turning over to the back reveals the fingerprint sensor at the centre and the camera at the top left side. Infinix Hot 7 has a dual camera set up at the back while Spark 3 has a single rear camera for the 1GB RAM Model and a dual rear camera for the 2GB RAM model, all with an LED flash.
Both the Infinix Hot 7 and Tecno Spark 3 have a dual SIM card slot with a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. Colour options here are Black, Gold and Purple for Infinix Hot 7 and Black, Red, Gold and Purple for the Tecno Spark 3.
Infinix Hot 7 Vs TECNO Spark 3 – Hardware & Software
Inside the Infinix Hot 7 is the Mediatek MT6580P SoC which has a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz while Tecno Spark 3 uses a MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 SoC which is an octa-core processor clocked higher at 2.0GHz for the 2GB model and uses MediaTek MT6580 SoC; a Quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz for the 1GB RAM model.
Both the Hot 7 and Spark 3 come in 1GB and 2GB RAM models, Both of which are equipped with 16GB of expandable storage. Infinix Hot 7 runs Android 8.1 Oreo for 2GB RAM and Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition for 1GB RAM. Tecno Spark 3 on the other hand also runs Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition on its 1GB RAM Model but runs Android 9.0 Pie on its 2GB RAM Model. As expected, Infinix Hot 7 and Tecno Spark 3 are both covered with their respective in-house User Interface; XOS for Infinix and HiOS for Tecno.
Camera, Battery & Connectivity
Both are rocking a dual camera set up at the back which comprises a main 13MP shooter and a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera for portrait shots. Except for the 1GB RAM model of the Tecno Spark 3 that comes with a single 13MP camera on the back. Regardless of that, they are all equipped with an LED flash for low-light photos. As for selfies, they both also rock a single 8MP shooter which is placed in the bathtub notch at the top of the display.
Infinix Hot 7 wins in the battery department with a 4,000mAh battery capacity while Tecno Spark 3 falls short with a 3,500mAh battery capacity. Both devices don’t have fast charging or 4G LTE connectivity. However, they do have WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, Bluetooth, GPS, a 3.5mm jack and a micro USB port for file transfer and charging.
Infinix Hot 7 Vs TECNO Spark 3 – Price
Both devices are priced between N35,000 to N40,000 depending on the model you’re going for. Tecno Spark 3 wins in terms of performance given the highly clocked SoC, However, if you’re more into the battery, then you should opt for the Hot 7 with a massive 4,000mAh battery.
