Xiaomi 15 Pro to Feature 1″-Type Main Camera Sensor

In October 2023, Xiaomi launched the 14 Pro in China. However, the device remained exclusive to its domestic market and did not accompany its siblings on their global journey. Reports indicate that its successor, the Xiaomi 15 Pro, will significantly improve its 50 MP triple camera setup.

A trustworthy source claims that while the Xiaomi 15 Pro’s primary and telephoto cameras will still use 50 MP sensors, they will be replaced. The primary camera will use a 1″ OmniVision OV50K sensor, significantly improving over the 14 Pro’s OVX9000 sensor. The US-Taiwanese imaging business has not yet formally released the OV50K sensor. Still, it is anticipated to outperform the remarkable OV50H featured in gadgets such as the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra, vivo iQOO 12 series, and Honour Magic6 Pro.

In addition to the main camera, the telephoto shooter will be equipped with the Sony IMX882 sensor, which represents a significant advancement over the older Samsung ISOCELL JN1. The new 1/1.95″ Sony sensor is notably more significant than its 1/2.76″ Samsung counterpart, promising better performance.

These upgrades will result in a competent camera setup for the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Enthusiasts hope this model will be released internationally, allowing for comprehensive evaluation and use.
